Today is officially our 1-year wedding anniversary! I woke up with a grumbling stomach that wanted… wedding cake!
Adam is still sleeping but I helped myself to a piece. He won’t mind. Today is all about feeling like princess and that means I get to eat cake for breakfast if I want to.
Saved top of our wedding cake:

It looks a little rough after being wrapped a million times and shuved into a freezer for a year, but OMG it still tasted just as amazing as it did on our wedding day. Phew! I was a little worried…
My breakfast – double chocolate cake + coffee. It doesn’t get any better than this!

Yum yum yum. Perfect way to start this awesome day. Hopefully Adam wakes up by the time I’m done with this post. I want to get to celebrating
Ok now I sound like a little kid. Hehe. Back to the wedding recap…
THE CEREMONY
Our ceremony was outside, so we kept the decor very simple. Just a few hanging flower pots and lots of rose petals down “the aisle.” Justin (Adam’s 4-year old nephew – the ring bearer) stole the show for a little while. He’s such a cutie!

He was so excited to be a part of the wedding, that he didn’t want to give the rings to the best man. He wanted to wait for me to get there, so he could give the rings to me. That was a fun twist in the middle of the ceremony
It’s ok, Adam convinced him that the rings will be safe with Kyle.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!!! Today is also my dad’s birthday (it was his 50th birthday on our wedding day!).
Finally together…

It was quite windy, so my veil was doing crazy things – flying all over the place. I felt that it was going wild but didn’t know exactly what was happening, how I looked or what I could do to calm it down (especially since Adam was holding my hands for most of the ceremony). I was cracking up for a good part of the ceremony because of this. Good fun.

Love this look! He’s just so handsome!!! I got myself a good one
(Oh and this is one of the hanging plans up-close. Kind of random, but they are so pretty that I wanted to include them somewhere in this recap.)

Very seriously listening to the JP’s instructions…

My ring (I said “I do”
):

Adam was so nervous that his ring finger swelled up. It took a little while to get the ring on. Wow, we had all sorts of fun mishaps.

Yay! Best part!

A FEW FORMALS

Such a wonderful day. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s recap of the reception.
Adam, wake up… Adam, wake up!

Your dress was gorgeous! You looked absolutely beautiful!
And I think wedding cake is a PERFECT breakfast on your anniversary!
Happy Anniversary! Have a great day together!
Wow…I love the view!
happy anniversary!! your wedding was definitely the most beautiful of all the weddings we went to last year. congrats on the house too!
Happy Anniversary! I know, I was SHOCKED at how delicious our wedding cake was. I’m not sure if you guys did it this way too, but I think the secret was wrapping it really well and then not opening the container all year! It was so moist and delicious! I love that you are having yours for breakfast
I just love your wedding pictures. The skyline in the background is picture perfect. You two make a beautiful couple! Enjoy your special day
aw happy anniversary, darling! glad you enjoyed a slice of wedding cake this morning – i can’t blame you, it looks divine!
Thanks, Erin!!! Hope to see you guys soon.
Lara, yeah – we wrapped it in like 5 layers of plastic wrap, and then 3 layers of foil, and never touched it until a few days ago when I transferred it into the fridge. It defrosted perfectly and was amazingly fresh. Let’s just say I had another slice (or 2) today
Happy Anniversary! That cake still looks so gorgeous and delicious. What a beautiful ceremony, and you two are so adorable
You were by FAR the most gorgeous woman there! The joy and love in you just radiates, and haha, Adam just looks smitten!
